Lunch 2.0

The Amsterdam Lunch 2.0 goes from success to success with eBuddy hosting us last Friday. Founders Jan-Joost Rueb and Onno Bakker welcomed us to the company and gave us the inside scope on eBuddy’s impressive successes in the web-based and mobile messaging fields. Their presentation is online (1 mb PPT) for those who are interested. One memorable point was all the phones buzzing with the news of Microsoft’s offer for Yahoo was a sign of the speed at which information travels (But who was up at 4 am in Silicon Valley passing on this information to us in Amsterdam?). After a very successful event at Hyves, the Amsterdam Lunch 2.0 now heading to eBuddy this Friday. As Google’s 7th fastest rising search term, the web-based IM platform is obviously doing a lot right. For those in the neighborhood, come on by!

We love the Silicon Valley Lunch 2.0s so much that we decided to bring them to Amsterdam, and so Lunch 2.0.nl was born! Amsterdam has a growing technology community and we’ll be eating our way across the city visiting both established companies and young startups. Expect the usual Lunch 2.0 mix of free lunches, and technology companies, and interesting conversation, but with more Dutch people. =) Of course, Amsterdam isn’t far from many other cities, so we encourage people from out of town to drop by.
