Lunch 2.0 at YellowBot, October 12th…
A couple of weeks ago Vani and I went to Lunch 2.0 at the ThisNext office (pictures on their weblog and from Andrew Warner). It was great fun – even if we didn’t actually manage to get anything to eat, with all the people. So, to help out we at Yell…

[...] Yesterday Adam, Jenn and I made our way over to the Yellowbot offices in Burbank for some yummy lunch and good conversation. We met some new folks and I also reconnected with a couple of people I hadn’t seen in a while. It was great fun and well worth it - check out Yellowbot’s site for some answers to local questions and hopefully we’ll see you at the next Lunch 2.0 Hollywood event! [...]

Yellowbot is a scam. It lists people’s personal information as “businesses”. They just scrape other site’s listings or have purchased spam lists or mailing lists. Nothing but a lame attempt to rip people off. They also don’t respond to any requests to have personal information removed from the site. Avoid this website.

A followup on my earlier comment. The people at Yellowbot did eventually contact me and have my personal information removed from their site, as well apparently from the business listing they use to populate the site. Although it was a frustrating few days wait, they we’re apologetic and accommodating in the end and it seems may make an effort to improve communications with users in the future about any errant listings.
