Lunch 2.0 is on a roll these days with two events in the same week

Everyone! We’ll have plenty of Indian food and hopefully lots of sun. Some visitors from out of town will be joining us as well, including several dozen students from Singapore who are in Silicon Valley for the week.

This is a very special Lunch 2.0 – it’s a Web Expo and a free lunch all rolled into one! Check out ten web companies that will show off their data-intensive websites at this upcoming Lunch 2.0 –and yes, this is a free event to all attendees and exhibitors. It’s all happening on Tuesday, September 12th. Here are the details:
What is it and Who will be there?
If you don’t know what Lunch 2.0 is, you can view previous events on flickr, videos to see what you’ve been missing out on, or visit the Lunch2.0 website to learn more.
Robert Scoble and the PodTech crew will be showing up to record the event, of course other bloggeratti will attend as well: Kristopher Tate, Thomas Hawk, Jeremy Pepper, Martin McKeay, Ian Kennedy, Damon Billian, Shel Israel, Scott Beale, Mario Sundar, Gave Rivera, Marc Canter (maybe). Pandora will “DJ” the party. There are folks coming as far from Ireland, and UK!

The Community Manager, Jeremiah Owyang of Hitachi Data Systems is the coordinator of this Lunch 2.0 Web Expo Blowout. You’ll be able to enjoy the Hitachi Data Systems Briefing Center, and play foosball, pool, ping pong, or shuffleboard.

For companies wanting to show off their site, this is a free, prime opportunity! Hitachi Data Systems will provide the location, (see this picture–it can fit hundreds) tables, chairs, internet LAN connections, and power for these companies. All you need to do is send an email to (jeremiah_owyang@yahoo.com) describing your website, and what your web company does. The focus for the expo is on companies that store large amounts of data (we’re at Hitachi Data Systems, after all!). No cost to be presenter. And did I mention it’s free?
If you’re selected you’ll be allowed to bring two laptops, and any schwag or business cards. The idea is to give an informal, stripped down demo of what your company is doing (this is web 2.0–no large booths! ).

It’s summer, it’s freaking warm outside, and everybody loves a Poolside Party! Come join the women from Women 2.0 for a summer’s-end pool party co-hosted with the boys at Meetro. BBQ starts at 1PM on Saturday, August 26th, and will be held in Sunnyvale (map). We’re having this party at a very exclusive clubhouse and will be providing food and drink, so we’re asking $5 a person to help cover costs. But feel good, you get to party AND promote women entrepreneurship!!!
What is Women 2.0? The Valley is filled with a few too many guys, especially in high-tech and business. We at Women 2.0 are a strong community of women entrepreneurs out here focused on helping women entrepreneurs make extraordinary leaps in the technology world. We love meeting new people, so come on out! Men are welcome to Women 2.0 events but please invite women you know to join our cause!

Carpooling is highly recommended since finding parking in downtown Palo Alto can be difficult at times.

It’s been a few weeks since the previous lunch 2.0 and we figure everyone is craving some good BBQ food. We will have a broad selection of meat and vegetarian dishes available, cooked up fresh by the dynamic cooking duo Eric and Dan, members of the Zazzle QA & Release team.
